God Is Your I AM
Think about all the people in your life and the different roles each of them play to satisfy all your wants and needs. For example, in my life I can think of a few:
*My Mother- my compassion, my encourager, my nurturer, the role of a mother that makes me feel all warm inside
*My Father- my “tough love,” my wisdom, my black and white “tell it like it is” go to person, my protector, my guider
*My Spiritual family- the spiritual aspects of my life that keep me on a firm foundation in Christ
*My two closest girlfriends- my accountabilities, helping with my self-awareness, my guidance towards change and growth within myself
My list can go on and on…
Have you ever really thought about that? How every person in your life was made to play a specific role in your life? How God designed each one of them to do something different for you spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and even physically?
Now, let’s go back to the beginning…think about the ONE who created all these people!
WHAT ROLE DOES HE PLAY IN YOUR LIFE?
“God said to Moses, ‘I am who I am…’” Exodus 3:14
“…He himself gives everyone life, breath, and everything else.” Acts 17:25
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
Think about this…think about all those “needs” that satisfy you from each person in your life…now put all those needs together into ONE person: THAT’S YOUR GOD!
Go back to the Exodus 3:14 verse above; God is your I AM.
I AM _________ fill in the blank with your need. God is your mom, your dad, your friend, anybody or anything you need in any given season you are in. God is your everything, filling up all your heart’s needs at any time. You need guidance?…He is your guide; need comfort?…He is your comforter; need support?…He is your supporter; need encouragement?…He is your encourager; need compassion?…He is your mother; need advice?…He is your father. God is it!
Who do you need God to be right now? In this season of your life? Just ask Him and He will be that need, that I AM for you. That is how powerful our God is and how faithful and perfect He is. Our Father loves us so much that He wants to be our I AM forever
