We are so blessed and honored to post our most recent testimony for you to read. We hope you enjoy reading John’s story of how God is transforming his life here at Shenandoah Valley Adult & Teen Challenge in Virginia.
1.What’s your first name?
2.How long have you been in the program?
I have been in SVTC for 4 months.
3.Tell us a little about your upbringing.
I came from a loving home, but along the way, I made some bad life choices.
4.When did you start using drugs?
I didn’t really use drugs, but I started drinking when I was 12 or 13 years old.
5.What led to you making the choice to use drugs?
I started drinking alcohol heavily when my best friend committed suicide. I was 18 years old.
6.What was your rock bottom that brought you to Teen Challenge?
My rock bottom was realizing that I should have been dead a long time ago due to liver damage. I really needed help.
7.What are your plans for the future?
I plan to stay on my path of sobriety when I complete Teen Challenge; I have to. I also plan to get and keep a full-time job.

9.What one piece of advice would you give to an addict that might be reading this right now?
Do it. Start recovery because your life depends on it – literally!
