27 Feb Miranda’s Story
Hi! My name is Miranda. I’m 23 years old and moved to Virginia from Tucson, Arizona. When I first came to Teen Challenge I did not believe in God. I was thoroughly convinced this was not the place for me and there was absolutely no way I was going to make it. Although I did not believe in God, He believed in me and had plans for me. He began to tear down the walls I had built up around myself and softened my heart. He started revealing Himself to me in small ways and then when I started to pray He gave me eyes to see. I have witnessed God at work in my life everyday. He has began restoration with family members I thought would never talk to me again. I now get to go home to Arizona to visit my family and I know without God that wouldn’t have ever been possible.
When I come back I’m signed on for a 6 month internship because I want to serve the God who saved my life. I truly want to pour out all of the love God has given to me into the lives of the women coming into this program. I have learned I no longer have to live as a slave to heroin and there is hope in my future. Through Teen Challenge God has given me the key to unlock the doors to the prison I created for myself and I am eternally grateful. I am looking forward to a life living out God’s will rather than my own and excited to see what He has in store for me in this next chapter of my life.
