06 Jun Psalm 77:14
“You are the God who performs miracles;
You display Your power among the peoples.”
I’m going to challenge you today…
Think about something(s) you want out of life that you think is totally impossible or feel can never happen. Then, think about who you are and write things down about yourself you feel like will never change and these negative characteristics will always be apart of who you are.
There were things I thought were impossible to accomplish in my life, especially while in my addiction. There were dreams I had that I thought would never become my realities, seasons of my life that would never come into existence, characteristics I would always carry within me, and chains that would be impossible to break…chains that would keep me in bondage forever. Well…I was wrong.
Why do you think those questions above would be a challenge? Is it because you don’t want to think about things in your life you think would never come true? Is it because you don’t think you are worthy enough or important to have these dreams and changes come true? Is it because you think, as an addict, you don’t deserve to dream big and think about the person God created you to be? Maybe it’s because the devil has been feeding you lies about your inner self and about your life, making you believe an addict is all your good for.
Do me a favor and read that verse at the top of the page again…and again…and again! This simple, short verse is going against all these lies that the enemy has been telling you. We have a God that performs miracles every minute of everyday! We have a God that performs these miracles in YOU..YES YOU because His power is in you. Once you have Holy Spirit in your heart, God can perform miracles in you, through you and for you.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
Our human minds are not created to understand or comprehend the miraculous power God has or the amazing transformations He can do through us and in our lives. His miracles are so much higher, so much more powerful than we can even think or imagine. One reason why God wants us to pray for things we think are impossible is because those prayers are possible with Him…He wants to show His Glory through our big dreams, big prayers, big futures we want for ourselves. It doesn’t matter how long you have been in your addiction, God can take you out of your mess and do miracles with your life, miracles that you would never think of. The power is in Holy Spirit and His Spirit is in your heart…the power can be within you!
