05 Apr Kailah’s Story
We encourage you to read Kailah’s Story of transformation and how God is doing miracles in Kailah’s life.
Hello! My name is Kailah and I’m 23 years old. I have been in the program for 3 months now. From the time I was 2 until I was 14 years old my mother found herself working a lot and in the midst of an extremely abusive marriage. We would all attend Church those days and seem fine but when we got home life was chaos brought forth by the hand of my step-father, whose goal seemed to be making my mother, brother, two sisters, and myself live a life of hell.
I started doing drugs when I was 13 years old. I wanted and needed to do anything to escape the pain that I was running from since childhood. My rock bottom was this last year of my life. At this point there wasn’t a moment I was sober. Being in and out of toxic relationships left me broken, alone and feeling worthless. I threw myself into my work, which was being a manager at a restaurant. I worked to abuse substance and I abused substance to work. When I wasn’t working I was “making moves” selling and party hopping. I sold a little bit of everything and what I wasn’t selling at the time I could locate for anyone who asked. “Go hard or go home” was what I lived by and then I wasn’t going home. I had no limits and I didn’t care if I lived or died. I woke up in the hospital in the most physical pain I think I’ve ever felt, to a nurse telling me I had died, naked and alone. I overdosed on drugs coke and I’m sure other things were in my system as well. I week later I’m at Shenandoah Valley Teen Challenge.
I want to finish this program and become a cop while still staying active in worship and Church. My life verse is Song of Solomon 8:6 “Place me like a seal over Your heart, or like a seal on Your arm. For love is as strong as death and it’s jealousy is as enduring as the grave. Love flashes like fire, the brightest kind of flame.”
Never stop praying for your lost family. When you feel there is something wrong, THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG! Reach out to them and show them love whenever they are around. Get Shenandoah Valley Teen Challenge on speed dial because God will meet you to pull them out of the claws of death.
Kailah’s Story is so powerful…being dead in a hospital room to being alive again at Teen Challenge receiving all these blessings from God Himself.
We hope you enjoyed Kailah’s Story and we pray it blessed and encouraged you and your life with God.
