Mimi’s Story

Mimi’s Story

My name is Marlyn Molina.  I’m 28 years old, born and raised in PG County, MD and this is my story.  I am a mother of four wonderful, spunky children; Hope (10), Faith (8), Gregory (7), Frankie-Love (2).  From the age of 8 to 14 I dealt with severe depression.  I became a “cutter.”  At 15 years old I was introduced to marijuana and cocaine, which took on a stronghold in my life.  I was stealing, lying and doing horrible in school.  I was not living at home and I was okay with that.  In the fall of 2004 (16 years old), I found out I was pregnant.  My life seemed to finally straighten up until “real life” kicked in.  I dropped out of school and worked two jobs.  Years went by and men went by.  I had more children and more stressors.

After having Hope, I developed severe back problems.  I was prescribed tramadol and hydrocodone to manage my pain.  I started seeing numerous doctors to up my prescribed amount.  For 10 years I was an opiates junkie, you name it and I did it. Alcohol, pain meds, cocaine, PCP, ketamine, etc.  I was dancing with the devil daily.  Friday, February 19th at Midnight on my 28th birthday, I overdosed for the 4th time in my life.  That was the final straw.

On March 7th, 2016 I entered the Teen Challenge program and the story of my life hasn’t been the same since.  Since being here I’ve gotten my relationship back with Christ.  I clearly see He has an amazing purpose for me.  I’ve gotten back everything the devil stole from me.  My love for Christ now is bigger and better than what the world has to offer me.
