A Decade of Transformation with Teen Challenge – Brittany’s Story

A Decade of Transformation with Teen Challenge

A Decade with Teen Challenge

Walking Through the Doors of Recovery

Today marks an incredibly significant milestone for me. Exactly 9 years ago, I walked through the doors of Shenandoah Valley Teen Challenge, grappling with a fierce addiction to drugs and alcohol. Initially, I thought my stay at Teen Challenge would be a mere 30 days. Little did I know, it was the beginning of a profound transformation, orchestrated by God.

From Addiction to Ministry: My Work with Teen Challenge
Over these past 9 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as an Education Coordinator for two different adult programs associated with Teen Challenge. After dedicating nearly 7 years to this inspiring ministry, I decided to take a new path, chasing my dream of attaining a College degree in Middle School Education.

Embracing New Beginnings

The Joys of Motherhood and Marriage

It wasn’t just education that changed for me during this period. I met my incredible husband and became a stepmother to his two lovely daughters. Together, we welcomed a beautiful baby boy into our family.

Returning to Teen Challenge: A New Role

Following some unexpected twists in life, I was presented with another chance to work for Teen Challenge. This time, I would be impacting young lives, guiding teenage boys in their journey as their dedicated teacher.

Looking Forward: A Decade of Sobriety and Beyond

Reflecting on my journey, it’s surreal to think where I started 9 years ago and where I am now. Today, I wear many hats – a wife, a mother, and soon, a certified teacher with a four-year college degree. And as I stand on the cusp of a full decade free from drugs and alcohol, I’m filled with gratitude. God has truly blessed me with numerous moments of joy, and I eagerly anticipate the wonders that lie ahead. ❤️
