Savannah’s Journey: From Teen Challenge to Transforming Lives

Five years ago, I walked out of Teen Challenge, uncertain but hopeful about the life that awaited me. Since then, my journey has been filled with significant milestones, each one drawing me closer to the person I am today.

Upon returning home, my immediate goal was to continue my education. I soon completed an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, followed by employment at a call center. However, the job began taking a toll on my mental well-being, prompting me to further my academic pursuits. I enrolled in a Bachelor’s program and graduated in May 2021 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

During this period, I also started working in a high school special needs classroom. The experience was a revelation; I knew I had found my calling. Fueled by this newfound passion, I decided to go for my Master’s in Special Education. Today, I’m blessed to serve as a Special Education Teacher at an elementary school, a role that brings me immense joy and fulfillment.

None of this would be possible without the guiding hand of God, who has been my constant support. Each day I’m reminded of His grace and I’m immensely grateful for the path He has set for me.
