Sober Living Home

Live at 6043

A man finishes a 12-month recovery program. He's sober. He's different. But he walks out the door with no stable housing, no job lined up, and no support system waiting for him.

That first 90 days back in the real world is where most people fall apart. Not because the program didn't work. Because there was nowhere safe to land on the other side of it.

That's what this building fixes.

Half of 6043 Broad Street is becoming a men's sober living home. Four beds. A stable address. A room with his name on it. Accountability, meals, and people who understand what the first year looks like.

Not another program. A bridge. The kind of place that gives a man enough time to get a job, find a church, rebuild the relationships he lost, and start living like the person he became in recovery.

Residents pay $500/month, utilities included, which keeps the building self-sustaining without depending on donations to keep the lights on.

The Gathering Room · 23 × 28 ft

Gather at 6043

Thursday night. He walks into a room with other men who know exactly what he's been through. Nobody's pretending. Nobody's keeping score. Someone shares a story and the room goes quiet because every man in it recognizes something in it. That's what this room is for.

Worship nights. Recovery groups. A cup of coffee across a table from someone who actually understands. Cafe tables on one side, couches and armchairs on the other, stacking chairs for when the room fills up. The sound system is built to recording standards so the voices in this room don't stop at these walls. A testimony shared on a Thursday night in front of twenty people can be recorded and shared with families who can't be in the room.

Between gatherings, the space books for community events and trainings that help keep the building funded.

Recording & Production Studio · 20 × 20 ft

Record at 6043

Two months in, he's not just trying to stay sober anymore. He's starting to give back. He helps set cameras, run audio, or sit in on an interview as someone else shares what God has done. A mom in Ohio hears an episode and texts her son the link. That's how the podcast works: stories from this community reaching families who need hope.

“Rebuilding Life After Addiction” is where real conversations about recovery are recorded and sent out to families who need to hear them. Right now it's made with portable gear and borrowed space. This room changes that: acoustic treatment, permanent cameras, professional audio, and a setup for interviews, couch conversations, and teaching residents basic production skills.

Between episodes, the studio books recording sessions for podcasters, churches, and ministries that don't have their own space. That revenue comes back into the program so the men in the house don't have to fundraise to keep a roof over their heads.

The Deck · 30 × 42 ft

Hang at 6043

Sunday afternoon. Coffee. No agenda. No microphone. No program. Just a deck with mountain views, string lights, and enough room for everybody.

Cookouts. Overflow space for events. The one place at 6043 where nobody has to talk about recovery unless they want to.

Community Garden · 60 × 30 ft

Grow at 6043

Saturday morning. He's pulling weeds next to a 12-year-old from town. Nobody's talking about recovery. They're just outside, hands in the dirt, watching something come up out of the ground that wasn't there last week.

Metal raised beds spread across a gravel garden out back. For kids in this community, it's a summer program. For the men living in this building, it's a reason to show up for something that has nothing to do with their past.

Built to Run — Not to Fundraise

Every space at 6043 exists because of the mission. Most of them also generate income.

Sober living rent covers operating costs. The studio books sessions. The gathering room rents for events.

The deck and the garden are for the community. Not everything has to make money to matter.

Once the buildout is complete, this building sustains itself. Your gift isn't for overhead year after year. It builds a place that can keep serving men and families long after this campaign is over.

“We've been helping families find recovery since 2000. This building is how we do it for the next 25 years.”

— Justin Franich, Executive Director
