Ministry Updates
Returning to Shenandoah Valley Teen Challenge

Ashley and I are coming back to Shenandoah Valley Adult Teen Challenge.
I came through the TC program as a student. Got clean in 2005, started on staff in 2007, and we served here until 2019. That's the short version. The longer version involves a lot of years, a lot of God showing up when we had no plan, and a lot of people we still think about.
I've been pastoring Brookside Church in Middletown. Ashley homeschools our four daughters and we have been active foster parents since 2020. I host the Rebuilding Life After Addiction podcast. So yeah, we already had plenty going on.
But my dad asked us to come back and help lead the ministry, and we said yes. We'd honestly been feeling the pull back toward TC for a while. When the conversation finally happened, it was more of a "finally" than a surprise.
I don't have some big vision to announce yet. We're stepping back in, learning what's changed, and figuring out where God wants this thing to go next. What I do know is that people are still losing everything to addiction, and Teen Challenge is still doing the work. That hasn't changed in 60 years.

2026 Update: A lot has happened since this post. I stepped into the role of Executive Director full-time in January 2025. We now have a building at 6043 Broad Street in Mount Jackson that we're converting into a sober living home, podcast studio, and community gathering space. The website has been completely rebuilt at svtc.info and we're putting out content and resources for families every week. If you're just finding us, start there.
