They Always Came Through

Scripture
"For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us." — 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV)
My mom had this habit every Christmas.
"We're not getting you anything this year." She'd say it with a straight face. No hints about what was coming. No clues. My parents would hide the gifts so well I never found them, no matter how hard I looked.
The month of December would drag by. I'd search closets, check the garage, peek in places I wasn't supposed to look. Nothing.
What I didn't understand as a kid was that my parents were struggling financially some of those years. They were fighting battles we never saw. But every single Christmas morning, they came through. Every time.
That track record changed how I waited.
As I got older, I stopped looking for presents. Stopped asking the same questions over and over. I knew I had parents who loved me, and they would be there. The waiting got easier because I'd seen them come through before.
That's how hope works with God.
Hope isn't wishful thinking. It's rooted in a track record. It's confidence in Someone who has never missed the mark. Who has been faithful across every generation. Who keeps every promise He makes.
The Israelites had stories. Great-uncle Moses at the Red Sea. Cousin Joseph from the pit to the palace. God always came through. Even in their disobedience, He pursued them.
What track record do you have with God? What has He brought you through that you can stand on while you wait for what's next?
Sometimes He's walking with us before we even recognize Him. And sometimes faith means saying yes without knowing the outcome. But either way, the Father is always watching the road.
Prayer Prompt
Make a list of times God came through for you. Not theory. Specific moments. Let that track record be your foundation while you wait for what's next.
